So, I have been thinking about the road of life lately.... I have been wondering how on earth I was so lucky to fall in love with my best friend. Yes, I realize that I am twitter-pated, but look, I have dated some real SCHMUCKS. I have paid my dues to the evil, Jerk you Around God. I have dated drug and sex addicts, masochists, abusers and guys so vain they could put Paris Hilton to shame.So how did I end up with a good guy? Well, first of all, he was my best friend. It pays to have some guys in your life who refuse to let you settle for less. Those guys and gals have kept me grounded.

Anyway, so what I was asking myself, is were some of these other people who annoyed me so bad? Was it my attitude or theirs?

Upon serious reflection I have realized, yeah, some people really are that irritating or completely insane. I always feel like I'm over-reacting but its also a relief to realize, yeah, some people are totally nuts and probably someone needs to tell them eventually that if they don't knock it off, they will get shot in the face with a bazooka. Hopefully in L.A. or New York.

Personally, I think that the reason some people like say oh, the Kardashians have body guards is not to keep them from getting kidnapped, its so that when they are shopping a sales associate isn't tempted to rip the arm off of a mannequin and beat them down.

Oh and P.S. I am even less typical in that I am 6 years older than my fiance' and I am 30. Wha-what! So I am officially a cougar, at least I think I am, I think you have to be 3 or 4 years older than your "significant other".

New Year, tons of changes

So I haven't written in a while because I've had a lot going on. I ilove any DIY wedding ideas because I will be getting married this July!!!!! I am not a very typical bride in any sense, and I'm even less of a typical Utah bride.

I'm getting stuff done now so that I won't do the typical Utah Bride thing of planning everything quickly in two months or less. I have about 7 months and I love love love all the DIY wedding blogs I have found. There are soooooooo many great ideas!

Blood diamond vs. Moissanite, what is the big deal people?

So recently I have been learning about Moissanite. I have been trying to figure out why jewelers look down on it so much. I looked up this question and was stunned to see how many jewelers still value diamonds as "Old money" regardless of where they come from. This is the scathing article I wrote back.

Yes, Moissanite is man made but it is still the second strongest stone on the planet. Naturally, it doesn't even come from this planet! There is no way to naturally mine it!
I think that the snobbery associated with diamonds is the only thing that keeps their value up. We are too well educated to pretend that we don't know where most diamonds come from. If you could see who was mining for those diamonds, would you really care that yours was made in a lab?
Don't pretend to be naive. No jeweler can absolutely guarantee that they aren't purchasing blood diamonds unless they have mined the diamonds themselves.
Yes, diamonds are associated with old money. So is inbreeding, slavery, and mental illness. If you can prevent at least one crime against humanity, why not take it? Moissanites don't have the same value as diamonds, but that is just it. Diamonds only have the value we give them.

Ipod fix it help-the other guys are rip offs

Wow! 4 followers! Its like some kind of fairytale come true!!!
So to celebrate my 4 loyal followers, I took a job writing for our University newspaper and broke my iPod! Hazaa!
I didn't break my iPod on purpose, it got drenched in my backpack on my way to work. I didn't notice its passing until I opened a backpack full of water. I did what I could. I cleaned it, I put it in a bag of rice and let it sit in the sun for 2 days. I cried and I yelled at it. In the end I had to face facts, it wasn't working and I was all alone!!!!!
So I started comparing prices and looking up online what to do and where to go. Lucky for me my year warranty had ended about 4 months ago! The pain has been terrible, but I did find some answers. For one thing I learned that places like "Best Buy" are a total rip off when it comes to iPod repair. You can pay about $60, to get your iPod shipped and "diagnosed" by a professional, but this does not include ANY actual repair.
I did find an incredibly helpful site with many wonderful iPod angels! They will email and answers questions and actually encourage you to fix it on your own!!!!! I'm not making that up! They have great videos and tutorials to show you what to do and they sell the parts, just the parts, to you, the consumer!!!!!!!

Single greatest band ever! Du Jour

nursing student= NAZI

WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH NURSES and/or NURSING STUDENTS!? I have dealt with a lot of nurses in my time. A LOT! I'm from a family of nurses and we have loads of health problems. So here is my problem, ladies and murses, CHECK THE ATTITUDE AT THE DOOR!!!!!!!! I can say this because I have tons of experience with this and so does my family. Yeah, your job is hard, very hard! Nurses can be saints! I personally believe that nurses do way more work and are way more qualified then 90% of doctors. YOU DO THE REAL WORK, I GIVE YOU PROPS!!!! But A BAD NURSE IS LIKE A BAD LIBRARIAN, ITS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SALVATION AND DAMNATION! I know very well that if I don't do my best to help a student I am screwing up their grade, wasting their money, turning them off to books, turning them off to education, ect........
Nurses, this is our life! Maybe you don't have pain you live with everyday, but a lot of us do. We expect doctors to be jerks but I'm always stunned when the nurses have way more attitude! If we can muster a good attitude while you poke the needle into the wrong vein 7 times and still smile while being poked and prodded in stirrups in front of a live audience:LADIES YOU CAN LEAVE YOUR ATTITUDE AT HOME! You are there with us at one of the most stressful, horrible, painful moments in our lives, don't use it to be smug! If you do, you will get smitten!For those nurses who are saints and keep us going, we love you! As for you stuck up 20 year old nursing students who are already giving me attitude when you need my research help, don't let the library door hit you too hard on the way out, and if it does, I hope you get an evil nurse!

Utah Drivers-hooray, now everyone knows how bad our driving is!

I just returned from Yellowstone National Park. It was awesome!!!!! What I noticed while in the park is that even in a National park UTAH HAS THE WORST, MOST AGGRESSIVE, STUPID DRIVERS!!!!!!! Why do I say this?
The only license plates that passed us, almost hitting majestic buffalo, elk, and other wildlife, while trying to text & take pictures with their cell phones going 65 were....... UTAHNS!
For your information the 2nd worst was IDAHO. They tried to kill, I kid you not, 2 Female Elk and their 3 babies as they tried to gently cross the road. The rest of us had pulled over and made a kind of blockade and were cheering the elk on. The Idaho driver came blasting through flashing their lights and trying to kill the baby elk. Finally the ranger had to make a blockade with his car lights flashing to stop drivers from killing the baby animals. Way to go Idaho!
